Martin founded Salamanca in 2001 and has been responsible for its growth and strategic direction. He has been involved in the structuring of deals around the world and has developed a number of the Salamanca proprietary investment models. Martin is also a founding partner of Salamanca Risk Management. He sits on the board of a number of companies both in the UK and overseas. Prior to founding the Salamanca group Martin was an officer in the British Army. In 1997 after a number of expeditions around the world he became one of only a handful of people to row across the Atlantic Ocean. Martin has an MBA in Finance, Real Estate & Construction.
Uri has been an active real estate investor for over 20 years with vast experience in retail, residential and office markets; over this time he has built up a substantial portfolio of assets. His experience spans the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Uri is responsible for developing new strategic relationships for the business both in the UK and overseas. His expertise and network of contacts, built up over his years in investment, help to ensure that the business is able to widen its strategic relationships and build strong partnerships. Uri is an active member of the Young Presidents Organisation.
Catherine joined Salamanca as a Director in 2004 and was appointed Fund Manager to the Global Property Fund in December 2008. Catherine's role at Salamanca has included the setup and management of a number of property backed collective investment schemes together with the negotiations of investment opportunities, deal structuring, raising equity and the identification of exit strategies so as to maximise asset performance. Catherine is also involved with strategic planning for the company and the development and coordination of Group policy. Prior to joining Salamanca, Catherine had 13 years commercial, residential and hotel experience with Colliers International, (NZ and UK) after graduating from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Property.
ShaRon is responsible for deal sourcing and company expansion, and has 10 years of real estate, corporate finance and industry experience working at Numis (previously RZH) and then with SRK Ventures at which ShaRon was managing director and co-founder. Having worked in Hong Kong, China and the UK, ShaRon has substantial international business experience. He studied Chinese and Law at SOAS.
Rupert joined Salamanca Capital in 2005 after training as an analyst with Fleming Family and Partners Capital Management (FCM). Rupert worked as an analyst for the EMEA desk before moving to help run FCM's real estate joint venture partnership with Salamanca Capital in 2005. Rupert joined the board of Salamanca Capital in 2006 and had responsibility for co-managing the European Investments until he moved to set up Salamanca's Brazilian venture. He has an MA (Hons) in Economic and Political Geography from Edinburgh University.
Marcus is responsible for overseeing Salamanca's operations in Poland, including deal sourcing, deal delivery and contact building. He has previously spent 5 years running a consultancy business for clients involved in retail, commercial and residential property management & investment and 3 years in business development in Poland for UK clients. He also has experience as the Development Director with Earls Court Group.
Motti joined Salamanca in 2006, having previously worked as the Finance Director of Sager Group, a London-based property development group. His responsibilities at Salamanca include new business development, investments management and the running of the day-to-day operations of Salamanca's Romanian subsidiary. Motti is a Canadian Certified General Accountant (CGA) and holds an MBA from RSM Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Renato is the former Secretary of State for Tourism for RN (Natal - Rio
Grande do Norte) as well as the former Deputy Secretary of State for
Economic Development. Previously, he had a successful investment
consultant career at McKinsey & Company, Sao Paulo office, and at R
Garcia Consultoria in Natal. He holds an MBA (Master of Business
Administration) from Texas A&M University, USA, has studied
international management at WHU - Koblenz School of Corporate
Management, Germany, and at the University of Limburg, The Netherlands.
John joined Salamanca in 2006 and as Finance Director oversees the overall group financial functions and assists on various deal related issues. John joined Salamanca from a pan-European private equity firm where he was the Group Financial Controller with prior experience as the Finance Director of a successful UK Telecoms start-up company. John is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Paul has extensive international experience in delivering high value property and infrastructure engineering programs. He joined Salamanca in November 2006 as Technical Services Director and is closely involved in vetting and monitoring aspects of development projects, particularly regarding construction time, cost and quality. Paul is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and has worked in private practice as a project director, and has also directed construction and facilities management companies.
Nikos joined Salamanca in 2008 and is responsible for the management of the Group's European Funds business. He previously worked in the origination team in Merrill Lynch's commercial real estate group. A trained architect, Nikos spent 7 years designing large-scale residential and commercial developments in Australia before moving on to real estate development and investment in Bulgaria and Greece. He has an Architecture degree from RMIT University in Melbourne and an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York.
Gaelle has seven years real estate and investment experience having joined Salamanca from Axa Real Estate Investment Managers where she worked on one of their Pan European Investment Funds. She previously managed a portfolio of CMBS loans at Barclays Capital and worked in Paris for a real estate consultancy company. She holds an MA in Banking and Finance and a Certificate in Securities and Financial Derivatives.
Prior to joining Salamanca, Nicky was the Senior Fund Analyst at Sirius Real Estate, a Euros 500 million, AIM listed, German commercial property fund. Nicky began his career working in South Africa as a property analyst for SAPRO, an AIM listed, South African property focussed development fund and was shortly recruited by Dubai World, where he joined the Corporate Finance team at Limitless, Dubai World's international property vehicle. During this time Nicky predominantly lived and worked in the Chinese, Polish and Middle East Markets. Nicky holds an MA in Law from Cambridge University.
Catherine's role at Salamanca includes deal structuring and execution and ongoing asset management. She joined Salamanca in 2006 with over 8 years of experience in the EEMEA markets working primarily for ING Barings and then Fabain Capital, a specialist Romanian property fund manager. Catherine has a degree in Biological Sciences from Nottingham University.
Eduardo, a Brazilian national, has over 10 years experience working with financial institutions and advising corporate clients both in Brazil and London. Prior to joining Salamanca in June 2010 Eduardo was Managing Director of Accesso Capital, a London Based Corporate Finance Firm. He previously worked in the Corporate Finance department at Standard Bank (London), where he was respondible for developing Project Finance transactions in the Energy and Carbon sectors. Eduardo started his London career brokering commodities transactions at Traditional Financial services (TFS) in the City of London. In Brazil, Eduardo has worked for some of the leading financial intermediaries and investment firms such as The Brazilian Mercantile & Futures Exchange and Rio Bravo Asset Management. Eduardo holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from PUC-SP in Brazil.
Marta joined Salamanca in 2007 and is responsible for general bookkeeping, cash management, bank reconciliation, management accounts and VAT returns. She gained experience working as Accounts Manager for a retail company presenting information for the purposes of preparing management accounts and in respect of cost allocations and forecasts. Marta graduated from the Technical University of Lodz in 2003 with a Master's and Engineer's Degree in applied mathematics, specialising in mathematics for the financial and insurance industries. Marta is currently studying towards ACCA Qualifications.
Rosanna joined Salamanca in October 2009 as Executive Assistant and is responsible for assisting the Office Manager in the day-to-day running of the London office as well as taking on individual administrative requests. Rosanna gained previous experience having worked at Guards Polo Club in a similar role after receiving a degree in English and Drama from Royal Holloway University of London this summer.
Monika joined Salamanca in September 2006. She is responsible for managing day-to-day operations in the Warsaw office. Prior to joining Salamanca, Monika gained experience managing the administration in various businesses. She also supported the marketing team of a software company as well as working for a property management and lettings company in Greece. She completed a Masters Degree and MBA (Hons) in Strategic Management and holds a Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Management.
Gabi joined Salamanca in 2006. She is responsible for the day-to-day
operations in the Romanian office. Previously she worked for 7 years
for a multinational company as an Executive PA, Internal Auditor and a
Quality Management Responsible. Gabi possesses extensive experience in
the organization and management of administrative & logistic
issues. Graduate from the Polytechnic University in Bucharest in 1996
with a degree in Mechanical Engineering
Dorin joined Salamanca in March 2007. He is responsible for transportation for the Managing Director, Business Associates and for other colleagues, assisting the Office Manager in market research, driving the company's car and delivering correspondence. He previously worked for a multinational company as a warehouse administrator. Dorin graduated from the Dimitrie Cantemir University in Bucharest in 2008 with a degree in Finance Banking and Bookkeeping.
